Technology Integration & Program Development for K-12 Students

EasyTech is web-based technology curriculum from www.learning.com. The course mangement system can be managed remotely, which allows the teacher, coordinator and administrator to access the entire core curriculum from a secured web interface. The animated lesson modules with sound and interactivity make learning technology basics fun and engaging.

Digital Photography Program

In collaboration with Kris Hill and Gerry Davis, a generous grandparent who's love of photography and grant writing skills won Chartwell a digital photography grant.  The program provides students with cameras for use during class and a special field trip/classroom set that is checked out by teachers for use on projects in class and during field trips.  The program continues to foster creative photographic inspiration through the annual photo contest judged by award winning photographers and the continued work by the Digital Media teachers and students.

Technology Program offers a variety of digital tools for student expression

Students at Chartwell use digital tools such as video cameras, digital cameras, scanners, and a digitizing tablet. Creativity flourishes when students are provided the digital tools to express their ideas. Student projects range from: digital stories, PSA's (Public Service Announcements), 30-second Garage Band created radio spots and digital collage. Some of the other skills acquired through the Digital Media class include; digital photography, color correcting images in Photoshop, storyboarding video production using Pages and editing and publishing movies using iMovie.
