Jenny Donegan, Web Publisher - Teacher - Advocate
I began my journey in web publishing as part of my Telecommunications, Multi-Media and Applied Computing under graduate degree classes at California State Monterey Bay. Here are the many faces of my website as I have grown and evolved my web publishing. My goal now is the encourage others to learn and actively publish their ideas, poems, inventions, family history and really anything they would like to share with another. A recent client reminded me of the Fox Fire book series and I am eager to get a copy and learn more through others stories. I want to create a publishing revolution where everyone can publish their own "FoxFire Series" as they choose . . . I can teach and mentor others to publish digitally and in print format. We need to take back our right of free speech through publish our voice in the name of legacy, community and the lost art of story telling. JenMarin aka Jenny Donegan 2024
Smart Solutions that Leverage Technology
Below are two solutions in which technology can be a communication tool to give people a voice in the 'Internetcentric' world we currently live.
Creating solutions and access for seniors has been the most rewarding, they are the most grateful and eager students when properly supported in their technology experience.
The TechHeroes program is a culmination my experiences both personal and professional, wrapped with a passion to create effective lasting change in society. In early 2009 I met Dr. Zimbardo and created an information network that served as a repository, resource and communication tool for the development of the Heroic Imagination Project. I shared my idea with Dr. Zimbardo and he encouraged me to write a grant proposal that was awarded funding for the pilot program.

A Smart Solution . . . Online Student Portfolios
Mission:
Provide students with the board understanding of Information Literacy and empower them to create and maintain an online portfolio of their work. Vision: Every student in my Computer Literacy class will have superior examples of student work integrated into an online portfolio to be used and developed throughout their educational experience. Passion: Providing students and individuals with the knowledge and tools to publish their work, ideas and thoughts online. Online Teaching and Learning is my degree area and I love the flexiblity that the hybrid and other models offer. Showcasing student work in an online portfolio that the student controls and manages and updates. Why Hartnell College I had taught the same class CSS43 Computer Literacy, 15 years ago in the same classroom at Hartnell College. I now could be in that same classroom and deliver content and curriculum rich with life experience. I had stated in my interview for the Instructional Technology position that I wanted students to leave Harnell with a portfolio of their work and course milestones. |
CSS43 Online Student Portfolios
The students in the CSS43 class were required to blog the lessons and outcomes of the class as well and integrate the major projects into a portfolio website.
