Overall Responsibilities Communications Management
  • Serve as the main online voice and communicator of MCBC by directing and managing the organization's outreach and communications across all media platforms to all of MCBC’s audiences: the public at large, partners, donors, supporters, media, educators, policy makers, and governmental and non-governmental organizations.  SeeTechHeroes; Grant, RFP, and Final Report.

  • Create and/or edit text and visual content for all communication channels, implement and follow all messages and campaigns through each point in their lifecycles. See Tech Heroes Newsletter, Videos and Facebook Page
  • Determine the target audience, message content and frequency of outreach for all communications.

  • Track, measure, analyze and report all communications success.  Online analytical tools in various platforms, familiar with Ning Networks, MailChimp and Constant Contact tools, in addition social media tools such as Facebook, see TechHeroes Facebook page
  • Manage MCBC’s outreach:
    • weekly email bulletin compilation and distribution See TechHeroes Newsletter with Integrated Video
    • mass email blasts creation and distribution as needed
    • quarterly Pedal Press newsletter digital distribution
    • Annual Report digital distribution
    • all print collateral and social media communications for events and programs See Portfolio Print
    • website updates, structural and functional revisions, and content layout/formatting See Portfolio Websites
    • 15th Anniversary Celebration marketing throughout 2014
  • Respond to and engage incoming requests, queries, and feedback in a timely and professional manner; involve relevant staff to craft appropriate responses and solutions.
  • Partner and collaborate closely with program staff to align communications strategy with program activities, and outreach and fundraising goals.
  • Educate and empower staff to improve their communication methodologies when applicable. See Teaching and Training Experience
Technology Management (bonus skills we’d love!)
  • Maintain and troubleshoot office network components. See Educational Technology
  • Coordinate use of professional expertise when needed.
  • Coordinate research, purchase, returns, set-up, and repairs of needed computers/network equipment, software and licenses.
  • Manage database and make changes as needed for improved communications and member data tracking.
